new york muay thai

Our New York Muay Thai program is headed up by Kru Aaron “The Ghost” Fisher. Kru Aaron has over 10 years experience in Muay Thai and currently holds an overall fight record of 18-9-1, including 10 professional fights in Thailand. Previous to turning pro. Aaron held the W.K.A. Bando Nationals, F.F.A.A. and the U.S.K.B.A. United States Amateur Muay Thai titles.

We have two different levels of Muay Thai classes at night. The Beginner class and the Intermediate/Advanced level class. Anyone can join the Beginner level class, but the Intermediate/Advanced class is reserved for people that have prior experience or have “graduated” from the beginner level class.

In the Beginner class you will learn and hone skills in Muay Thai like how to punch, kick, and use elbows and knees, and blocking. Some classes will be more cardio based while others will be devoted to technique. In Muay Thai cardio and technique go hand in hand, you can’t have one without the other. Some of the things you can expect to do in this class are, jumping rope, working the heavy bag, doing drills with a partner, doing pad work, shadowboxing, push ups, Ab work, and occasionally light sparring.

In the Intermediate/Advanced class we work at a higher level. The training is set more like the training done in Thailand. This class is designed for people who have the basics of Muay Thai down and are looking to go to the next level. Many of the students in this class are competing or plan on competing in amateur/professional muay Thai fights. In this class you will get one on one pad work, clinch work, and regular sparring as well as cardio and technique.

Kru Aaron and Camp Undefeated have implemented a ranking system for our Muay Thai program, similar to ones used in Karate. In Muay Thai there isn’t a defined ranking system, so ours is used exclusively for our gym. Our system uses a white armband with different colored tassels. There are 4 levels. White, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Fighters are awarded a black armband with red tassels.

Beginner classes are held Monday-Wendsday and Fridays from 6p.m.-7p.m Intermediate/Advanced classes are held on the same days from 7p.m.-8p.m. Thursdays are for all levels. At 6 p.m. is a technique class. Here we will practice various techniques and break them down so that students understand how and why to use them. At 7 p.m. is a conditioning class. This is a high cardio class utilizing the techniques of Muay Thai.

In addition to evening classes we also have morning and lunch classes. These classes are open to all levels. Morning classes are held Monday-Thursday at 7a.m. -8a.m. Lunch classes are held Monday, Wendsday, and Friday at 12:30p.m.-1:30p.m
